Group Officer - Global Business Service, BHP
Sundeep was appointed Group Business Services Officer in January 2021.
He is responsible for establishing a digitally-enabled Global Business Services (GBS) which unites shared services and repeatable process activity across BHP into a single operation. Operationalised with process transformation capabilities at its core, BHP’s GBS has the mandate to aggregate, operate, and improve end to end (E2E) processes on behalf of Functions and Assets to drive operational excellence.
Prior to this role, Sundeep was the Group Procurement Officer. In his time as Group Procurement Officer, he was responsible for BHP’s global third party spend of over USD25B per annum. In this capacity Sundeep led the transformation of BHP’s Supply chain to first quartile benchmark performance, focused on supply chain resilience through COVID and unlocked the supply chains contribution to the partnering, diversity, social value and sustainability.
From 2009, Sundeep held several executive roles in BHP Marketing and Sales, including General Manager Marketing, Coal accountable for the global sales revenue line, incorporating customer management, trading, strategy and leadership of transformational activities towards a commoditised market place.
Prior to BHP, Sundeep worked for a number of leading management consulting firms including PricewaterhouseCoopers in Business Process Outsourcing and Ariba International where he managed global outsourcing and supply programs for resources, finance and manufacturing industries.
Sundeep grew up in Melbourne Australia and holds a Masters of Business Administration and Bachelors of Business Systems.
He is married to his wife Tanya and they have two children.
