Global Head, Sandoz Competency Centres
Pedro F. López is a seasoned international executive with over 25 years of experience, currently serving as the Global Head of Sandoz Competency Centres at Sandoz, the leading company in generic and biosimilar medicines. In this role, he spearheaded the definition and implementation of the global business services, as a spin-off from Novartis. His tenure at Novartis was marked by various strategic and operational roles across multiple regions, where he held full profit and loss and strategic responsibilities for multifunctional, global, regional, and local organisations. His positions included Head of CTS China, Head of Global Service Centres in Dublin and Prague, Global Head of the Novartis Knowledge Centre, and Global Head of Planning for Product Lifecycle Services.
Before his time at Novartis, which began in 2013, Pedro was the Head of Business Solutions at The Global Fund to fight AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis, in Geneva. This role followed a robust career in management consulting, covering various industries and geographies.
Pedro earned his MBA from IE Business School, where he also teaches as an Adjunct Professor, and a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Málaga, Spain. He furthered his education with a course on Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Pedro has built his career across multiple countries and continents, relishing the collaboration opportunities and cultural diversity that global roles provide. Outside of work, he indulges his curiosity by traveling with his family and uses photography as a means of expression and communication.
