Sherry Coutu CBE

Sherry is a serial entrepreneur who serves on the boards of companies, charities, government departments and universities, focusing on AI and learning.

Sherry serves on the board of Raspberry Pi, the world’s largest single-board computer company, where she chairs the Remuneration Committee and is Senior Independent Director. She also serves on the board of Pearson plc, the world's largest learning company, where she chairs the Remuneration Committee and serves on the Nomination Committees. Previous plc board experience includes London Stock Exchange Group plc, Interactive Investor International plc and Zoopla plc, where she also chaired the Remuneration Committees.

As an entrepreneur, Sherry founded Interactive Investor International plc, Founders4Schools, Digital Boost and the Scale-Up Institute. Interactive Investor was responsible for the first e-commerce transaction in financial services before floating on the London and Nasdaq markets in the most over-subscribed IPO in the LSE’s history. It was most recently acquired by Abdrn and valued at £1.5 bn with profits exceeding £100 million. She is also an active angel investor and an LP in several venture capital firms.

Founders4Schools has become the largest transition-to-work charity in the UK and the Scaleup Institute is renowned for its work stimulating economic growth.

The Queen awarded Sherry a CBE in 2013, recognising her services to entrepreneurship and the UK government commissioned her to author the Scaleup Report on UK Economic Growth in 2014. She holds four honorary Ph. Ds, an MSc (with distinction) from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard, reflecting her commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
