Head of Digital Platforms and FT Columnist, Financial Times
Matthew Garrahan is head of digital platforms at the Financial Times and also writes a column on media and technology. Before that he spent four years as news editor, overseeing the FT's global news operation and leading coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic, Russia's war on Ukraine and the UK's political crisis. He was previously global media editor, based in New York and then London, and Los Angeles correspondent.
Matthew has twice won Business Journalist of the Year at the UK Press Awards and also won for Arts and Entertainment reporting at the British Journalism Awards. He won scoop of the year at the Society of Business Editors and Writers and has been recognised by the Los Angeles Press Club and the Newhouse School Mirror Awards.
