An inclusive workplace? Ask Yourself
Building an inclusive environment, where everyone feels able to be themselves and can thrive, develop and succeed is a business imperative. We believe that it is only within such an environment that our people can truly be at their best. This year we launched 'Ask yourself...' a short film we created to make all our people think about their actions and to judge people solely on the value the bring. The film was part of our Respect & Inclusion action plan that outlines the measures we are taking to ensure that we provide an inclusive working environment with respect at its core; this has included mandatory respect and inclusion leadership workshops for all our partners.
Deloitte has 10 diversity networks with around 4,000 members, including GLOBE and the Women’s Network featured elsewhere in this report. These networks play an important role in creating a sense of community, building and enhancing client relationships as well as supporting the attraction and retention of a diverse workforce. Our networks come together regularly to share their plans and ideas. This year we introduced a Sikh network, which has held cultural days and welcomed university students to our offices to learn more about Deloitte. Our multicultural network held an evening with Kick It Out, football’s equality and inclusion campaign, to celebrate the 2014 World Cup and discuss the progress of Diversity and Inclusion within the sports industry.
