Case study
Partnership IPO
Deloitte played a significant role in helping Partnership Assurance complete its debut on the London Stock Exchange, including acting as reporting accountants to the IPO. The actuarial team worked alongside corporate finance and audit to provide a truly combined service to Partnership. In addition to signing the public prospectus, Deloitte prepared a number of private reports for the banks underwriting the share issue. This landmark deal was the first life insurance IPO since 2006, and the implied value of the company on the morning of the debut was £1.54bn highlighting the strategic importance of the project.
We differentiated ourselves through our in-depth market knowledge, understanding of impaired life mortality, expertise around complex asset classes and the ability to leverage our Actuarial Modelling Centre (AMC) to support the diligence process. This is the second insurance IPO Deloitte has signed off this year, the other being Direct Line, reinforcing our position as market leaders in insurance M&A.
