Bristow Group wins UK Search and Rescue Helicopters Contract
Bristow Helicopters Limited signed a contract with the Department for Transport to take over provision of Search and Rescue Helicopter services for the whole of the United Kingdom in March this year. The award of the £1.6bn contract will come into effect in April 2015 and will run until 2026.
This award was the culmination of two years of work by Bristow on their bid and Deloitte supported them throughout. We have been working closely with Bristow since 2010, providing valuable advice throughout in the areas of strategic bid advice, commercial and financial structuring, financial modelling and negotiation support. During this time, we have built a strong working relationship which enabled us to support Bristow to not only win the bid, but also to help them identify and successfully overcome certain challenges they faced throughout the process.
As Bristow move to the next phase of planning in the delivery of their contract, we will continue to work closely with them helping to ensure effective and efficient implementation from planning and commercial strategy to site acquisition and lease negotiation advice.
Commenting on the impact of the Deloitte team, Bristow Group CFO Jonathan E. Baliff remarked that Deloitte,
“made a huge and strategic contribution to the success of the bid.”
