iCITY’s vision is to provide a sustainable legacy from the 2012 Olympic Games for the local community through the creation of thousands of jobs, apprenticeships and training opportunities. Drivers Jonas Deloitte were particularly pleased to have the opportunity to play a key strategic role in advising on all aspects of the bid, and to provide planning and development advice for the proposed scheme.

iCITY will transform the Olympic Press and Broadcast Centres into a world-class centre of innovation and enterprise, benefiting from some of the most advanced digital infrastructure in Europe. East London already has a  flourishing digital and creative sector and this will build on that platform.

iCITY will bring together start-up businesses, established global companies, investors and social enterprises, into one space to promote collaboration and innovation. It will host a data centre, media studios, a university, a digital academy and a new business incubator to develop a technology cluster of international significance. Once complete, iCITY aims to create over 4,000 jobs and add approximately £340m GDP to the local economy each year.
